On Thursday, February 22, 2007, during construction of the new Glenloch Interchange as part of the GDE, ACT Roads and Simon Corbell played a cruel trick on Canberra. Not only did they deny Canberrans the right to watch a spectacle (in sharp turnaround to what we were allowed to see when the Royal Canberra Hospital was blown up 10 years previously), but in doing this, as an aggravating factor they took people by surprise by blocking off traffic within seeing distance of the explosion. Canberra's culture of secrecy has gone TOO FAR (and I am not talking about the Federal Government). ACT Policing (at least at the time this story took place) had a culture of secrecy that has pissed off the editors of The Canberra Times, and now this: a TOP SECRET bridge implosion, exposed by WIN TV Canberra on WIN News.
